chipzdarskysubstack_feedLast week I was in NEW YORK CITY with a bunch of writers and editors and important people where we talked about what’s coming up in MARVEL COMICS. As always, I fought hard for every character to “do it” and was shot down because Marvel hates making money. But, besides that it was a nice time and I still haven’t been fired, just “put on notice”.
Incoming DAREDEVIL writer Stephanie Phillips is very popular on TikTok, an app/way of life that I refuse to understand. But I’m always willing to appeal to the people!
Tiktok failed to load.It’s been a little bit since I’ve been on here as I don’t feel I need to promote myself now that I have two teevee shows in the works. I also stopped talking to my friends and family because how can I trust their motives anymore?! Are they just after my buckets of teevee gold? Impossible to say. I have not cut out my various lovers though as it’s incredibly obvious that they’re after me for my charm and good looks.
Anyway! Marvel released the teaser image for my next CAPTAIN AMERICA arc, which was very fun to make.
It’s gonna be VERY FUN AND COOL
Speaking of Cap! Issue seven is out TODAY! Frank & Delio are incredible, with Romulo taking things to eleven with his colours. This is a VERY PRETTY BOOK only ruined by my words.
And guess what? This is a DOUBLE CHIP DIP week! My big WOLVERINE miniseries, WOLVERINE: WEAPONS OF ARMAGEDDON kicks off today! This bad boy is drawn by the incredible Luca Maresca with poppin’ colours by Jesus Abertov! It tees up my big AVENGERS ARMAGEDDON series for this summer, AND ties into my CAPTAIN AMERICA run, but also it’s just fun, good lookin’ comics?? Also, boy oh boy do I enjoy writing Logan. He’s so cool. Look at how cool he is, murdering those beer bottles!

Summary: It's 2005 and Dustin wants to watch Batman Begins. Over Steve Harrington's death body.

"Pick another movie."
"I still can't understand why you don't like—" Dustin mimicked swinging "—the Bat-Man."
He knew exactly why—
"He's a child-endangering piece of shit, that's why."
—Steve was so easy to rile up.
"There's no sidekick in this film! And you don't even read comics, man, why do you care." He surreptitiously took Steve's soda from him, drinking through the straw with the most obnoxious sound he could make. It was warm where Steve's lips touched it.
"Doesn't stop you assholes from talking my ear off about them," he went on, uncaring about Dustin's antics. "Max told me about that War Lord story from last year."
"War Games."
Sometimes Max still acted like she was too cool for nerdy nonsense, but she'd been a fan of Spoiler since the 90s, and got excited when she'd graduated to Robin. Lucas told Dustin that she'd walked back into the comic store with Batman #633 and ripped it to pieces in front of the bemused salesman.
"And don't think for a moment I've forgotten that poll stunt from '88. It made you cry, man!"
"We all cried, Steve!"
There had been varied opinions on the shiny new Robin, but the whole party became invested when they heard about the poll to save his life. Seventy-two votes of difference. It'd been crushing. Steve, for all he insisted he didn't give a fuck about their funny pages, had been extremely offended about the whole thing.
"You know, we can watch the new Star W-"
"No. Fucking. Way." Steve, who didn't even blink at having to buy another drink for himself, also knew how to rile Dustin up.
"Hmm… what about Cinderella Man?"
"Ugh. You're really making me watch a jock film?"
"This is prestige cinema, you little shit-"
Ha! Dustin still got it.
